CGB LEGAL INC (hereinafter "CGB", "We", "Us" or "Our") operates the https://www.cgblegal.ca/ website and certain services (hereinafter the "Services").

This Privacy Policy (hereinafter the "Policy") explains our policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information when you use our Services and the choices you have regarding such data.

In order to provide you with quality services, we must have access to certain personal information about you. We ensure that our employees manage this information with the necessary discretion and rigour, and in compliance with the legal and regulatory requirements in force. By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information in accordance with this Policy.

1. TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED

1.1. We may collect and process various types of personal information in the course of our business and provision of services, including:

i. Identity information. Such as your first or last name.

ii. Contact details. Such as your name, address, e-mail address and telephone number.

iii. Billing and financial information. Such as your billing address, bank account information or payment details.

iv. Service information. Details of services we have provided for you.

v. Recruitment information. Such as your resume, educational and employment history, and other information relevant to your potential recruitment by CGB.

vi. Web site usage and other technical information. Such as details about visits to our Web sites, your interaction with our advertising and online content, or information collected through cookies and other tracking technologies.

vii. Information provided to us by or on behalf of our customers or generated by us in the course of providing our services, which may, where relevant, include special categories of personal information (such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, health or sexual orientation, etc.);

viii. Identification and other background check data. Such as a copy of your driver's license, passport or utility bill, proof of beneficial ownership or source of funds information, required to comply with anti-money laundering laws and collected as part of our customer relationship acceptance and ongoing monitoring procedures.

ix. Any other personal information you provide. Please note that if you provide us with personal information about other persons (such as your customers, directors, officers, shareholders or beneficial owners), you must ensure that you have duly notified them that you are providing us with their information and that you have obtained their consent to such disclosure.

1.2. We do not knowingly collect information from children or others under the age of 16. If you are a minor under the age of 16, please do not provide us with any personal information without the express consent of your parent or guardian. If we learn that we have collected personal information from minors without verification of parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information.

1.3. You may not send us any confidential information until we have confirmed in writing that we represent you or your company or organization, or that we are acting on your behalf or on behalf of your company or organization.

2. USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

2.1. Use of your Personal Information. We may use your Personal Information to send you newsletters and other information that may be of interest to you.

2.2. Usage data. We may also collect information about how you access and use the Services ("Usage Data"). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer's Internet Protocol address (i.e., IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Services you visit, the date and time of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

2.3. Refusal of Collection and Withdrawal of Consent. It is your right, if you so desire, to refuse the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information. You may also, at any time, and subject to reasonable notice and applicable legal or contractual restrictions, withdraw your consent to the use of Personal Information already collected by contacting our Privacy Officer. Please note, however, that if you choose not to provide us with your Personal Information, this may prevent you from accessing some of our Services, as the Personal Information is required to perform our services to you. Please note, however, that anonymized information, i.e. information that does not allow you to be identified, will be retained.

3. USE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

3.1. We use your personal information to meet our legal obligations.

3.2. We may use personal information in any of the following ways, with your consent. In each case, we indicate the purposes for which we use your personal information:

i. To provide our legal and other services and for the conduct of our business, to administer and perform our services, including fulfilling our obligations under any agreement between you and us.

ii. To respond to inquiries or other requests from visitors to our Web sites.

iii. To facilitate the use of our websites and to ensure that content is relevant.

iv. For marketing and business development purposes - to provide details of new services and information on legal developments.

v. To meet our legal, regulatory or risk management obligations - to comply with our legal obligations (performing due diligence on a customer/obtaining information about a customer, detecting anti-corruption, sanctions and reputational risks, identifying conflicts of interest).

vi. To prevent fraud and/or conduct other background checks that may be required at any time by applicable law, regulation and/or best practices (if false or inaccurate information is provided or fraud is detected or suspected, information may be forwarded to fraud prevention organizations and may be recorded by us or such organizations).

vii. To enforce our rights, to meet our legal or regulatory obligations to provide information and/or to protect the rights of third parties.

viii. To ensure we get paid - to collect payments owed to us and, where appropriate, to enforce such collections through debt collection agencies or other legal means (including legal proceedings).

ix. In order to reorganize or change our business - if we undertake a reorganization (for example, by merging, consolidating or divesting part of our business), we may be required to transfer some or all personal information to an applicable third party (or its advisors) as part of any due diligence process or transfer to such reorganized entity or third party for the same purposes as set out in this Privacy Policy or for the purposes of analyzing any proposed reorganization.

4. USE OF COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

4.1. Tracking and cookie data. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track activity on our Services, and we retain certain information.

Cookies are low-volume data files that may contain an anonymous unique identifier. Other tracking technologies such as pixels, beacons and scripts are also used to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.

5.1. Legal requirements. CGB may disclose your Personal Information if it believes in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:

i. Fulfilling a legal obligation

ii. Protect and defend the rights or property of CGB.

iii. Preventing or investigating possible wrongdoing in connection with the Services

iv. Ensure the personal safety of Service Users or the public.

v. In the event of a company transfer

vi. Protecting yourself against civil liability

6. RETENTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

6.1. CGB will retain your Personal Information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Information to the extent necessary to fulfill our legal obligations (for example, to comply with applicable law), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements and policies.

7. TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

7.1. From time to time, we may need to share your Personal Information with agents or Service Providers to help us make all the features of our Services available (maintenance, analysis, legal requirements, fraud detection, marketing, and development). Please note that the latter may be in Canada or in other jurisdictions or countries. They will only have access to Personal Information that is necessary to perform these tasks on our behalf and are required not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Please be aware that we have contractual agreements with these suppliers to ensure the security of your data. By accepting this Policy and submitting this information, you consent to this transfer.

8. PROTECTING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

8.1. Data transmission. The security of your data is important to us. However, please remember that no method of data transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable methods to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

8.2. Protection measures. Appropriate physical, technical and/or administrative protection and security measures have been put in place and are kept up to date to prevent:

i. Any accidental or unlawful destruction.

ii. Any accidental loss.

iii. Any unauthorized disclosure.

iv. Any unauthorized modification.

v. Unauthorized access; and

vi. Any illegal treatment.

8.3. To this end, we restrict access to our offices and computer equipment, train our personnel and require our agents and suppliers of goods and services with access to Personal Information to sign confidentiality agreements and implement equivalent security measures.

8.4. Data incident. When a data incident is reported, it will be entered into our incident log and we will take prompt action to reduce the risk of harm to you.

8.5. Commission d'accès à l'information. In addition, in accordance with section 3.5 of the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector ("Private Sector Act"), if the incident presents a risk of serious harm, we will notify the Commission d'accès à l'information. We will also notify any person whose personal information is affected by the incident.

8.6. Contact. If you believe that your Personal Information has been compromised, we invite you to contact us using the contact information listed in the "Contact Us" section of this Policy.

9. SOCIAL MEDIA FEATURES

9.1. Our Services include social media features such as the LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or You Tube share button or interactive mini-programs that run on our Services. If you use these features, they collect your IP address, the page you visit on our Services and create a cookie to enable these features to function properly. These features may be hosted by a third party or directly on our Services. Your interaction with these features is governed by the privacy policy of the company providing the feature and not by this policy.

10. YOUR RIGHTS CONCERNING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

10.1. You have several rights in respect of your personal information. Under certain circumstances and in accordance with applicable data protection laws, an individual has the following rights:

i. Access. The right to ask whether we process information and, if so, to request access to personal information. Subject to applicable law and, where applicable, the payment of a monetary sum, the individual may thus receive a copy of the personal information we hold and certain other information concerning him or her.

ii. Accuracy. We are required to take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information in our possession is accurate, complete, non-misleading and up to date.

iii. Rectification. The right to request rectification of any incomplete or inaccurate personal information held by us.

10.2. You may withdraw your consent to the disclosure or use of your personal information at any time.

11. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

11.1. Right to change this Policy. We reserve the right to update our Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Policy on this page.

11.2. Notice of Modification. Before the change takes effect, we will notify you by e-mail and/or by placing a prominent notice on our Services and we will update the "Effective Date" at the top of this Policy.

11.3. Review of this Policy. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Policy will be effective when posted on this page.
